Below are our Discovery Class options for this age group. Students do not have to stay all day, but they do have to be enrolled in a class for each class hour they are on campus.

Intro to
illustration
Learn the basics of illustration with pencil and ink. We will learn about drawing techniques through sketchbook exercises and fun projects.

Fun
Performance Fun is a creative drama class where students build confidence through improv, skits, and scripted scenes. We focus on self-expression, teamwork, and public speaking—all while having fun!

2nd HOUR (11am to 11:55am)
Survival &
First Aid
In this class I am going to be teaching first aid and survival skills, starting with the basics and then working into more complex situations. We will look at some survival scenarios and talk about how to handle the situations, such as, what do you do if you are hiking and you start getting attacked by a swarm of bees? or a bear? Or a bitten by a snake? (This is just a small example) I want to give students the basic knowledge needed so if they ever find themselves in a situation they will be better equipped to handle it. We will also cover some homeopathic options for certain situations.

Energize
Cooperative and competitive games keep us moving and practicing skills. This will be an indoor/outdoor class.

Public Speaking
​Public Speaking (and attentive listening) is an important life skill! In this class, each child will present in a show-and-tell format. This will be a fun, engaging format as each child presents something they are excited to share with their classmates for 2-5 minutes. Some kids will be excited to share from week one, and some kids will need a couple weeks to warm up. But by the end each child will be confident getting up and speaking in front of their class. When it is not their turn to speak they will be taught and expected to listen attentively to the one who is presenting.
We will also touch on other types of speaking such as impromptu speaking, improv, introductory debate, etc.

Truth Seekers
Have questions about Jesus? Or want to know how to defend your faith? Get your questions answered! We'll use real-life detective skills to uncover the truth about Christianity. Get ready to test witnesses, take case notes, examine the evidence, and dive into the most important case of all: the case for Jesus! We'll add science experiments and hands-on crafts, like a detective bag, for even more fun!

Self Defense
This class will teach awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies, and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully escape, resist, and survive attacks. This class also provides psychological awareness and verbal skills, not just physical training.

Crochet 101
Beginner crochet for those who don’t have a good understanding of crochet. We will cover basic stitches and seek to complete basic projects as we learn skills in order to solidify our learning.

Sculpture Studio
We will be creating sculptures big and small with a variety of fun materials. Together we will explore form, volume, and design while exploring our artistic vision.
